The "RESORT" and the Campground are separate entities.

The event is at the entrance to the campground.

Look for the sign that says WAYSIDE AND CAMPGROUND UNION CREEK

From the parking lot there is a path with a bridge over Union Creek to the Picnic Shelter and Amphitheater.  The trail on the image below may provide closer parking for those who don't need to walk much.

WHAT'S GOING ON?

One planned meal with social on Saturday at noon.

Possibly Sunday morning a hike to Boundary Spring…the headwaters of the Rogue River.

  1. We are setting up a heap of items for a make your own sandwich bar. Those with extreme dietary requirements or allergies, please provide for yourself. I'm pretty good about vegetarian and gluten free options, but vegan or allergies to common things may be a stretch. See REQUESTS for more information.
  2. Visiting and sharing mostly-roger-focused stories
  3. Paul A is bringing a P.A. system for those who want to share with the whole crowd, and there may be music and or singing
  4. This is a campground and alcoholic drinks should not  be obvious, nor do I care for this to be a Whiskey-Tango event.

PLANNED MEAL

  • If you're eating with us, please feel free to bring a side or dessert, i.e., Salad, chips, cookies, etc.
  • You may prefer to bring a rack of pop or  water. There will be a few coolers, but feel free to bring one if you bring cold drinks…ice is available at the lodge.

SEATING, EATING, AND SHADE

  • The amphitheater has OLD LOG SEATING…LIKE CHURCH CAMP STYLE  in full sun. A few of us have pop-up canopies, but if you have one we can use, that would help.
  • The picnic shelter has built-in counters and minimal seating…BRING A CAMP CHAIR
  • A folding table may help for those who don't want to eat in their laps…I'll bring a table or two...

ACTIVITIES

  • Cornhole or other lawn games are welcomed if you have the room and gumption to bring them.

PHOTOS AND MEMORIES TO SHARE

  • PRINT PHOTOSI am bringing a high-speed photo scanner. If you have photos you can share with Roger's kids, please bring them and we will scan them so Sydney and Eljay have a copy.
  • DIGITAL PHOTOS: If you have a thumb drive or an SD card you can use to bring photos, we will copy them to a hard drive and return the disk to you.
  • IF I WERE REALLY COOL I COULD MAKE A SLIDE SHOW, BUT IT WOULD BE TOO BRIGHT FOR A PROJECTOR AT LUNCHTIME. I COULD LOAD THEM ALL TO A GALLERY ON THIS WEBSITE WHEN I RETURN, THOUGH.
  • THERE IS NO CELL SIGNAL AT THIS LOCATION.
  • THE LODGE HAS LIMITED WIFI IF YOU ARE DESPERATE AND THERE ARE ENOUGH OF US STAYING THERE THAT WE COULD GET YOU ONLINE IF NEEDED…BUT NOT AT THE EVENT ON SATURDAY.
  • Leann, her sisters, and Roger's kids are staying in Cabin 14…it's an old forestry house…the driveway is directly across from the campground entrance. If there is a parking issue on Saturday, we can park there and walk across the road. We can also reconvene over there in the evening and play corn hole or something.
